Why does sign-in ask me to prove I am a person?
The sign-up, sign-in and reset-password pages
On the sign-up, sign-in and reset-password screens, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is there, to stop automated sign-ups and password guessing. Most of the time it runs unseen and you notice nothing. If activity from your connection looks automated, it shows a box to click first. Signing in with a passkey skips it.
Step by step
- Usually nothingThe check runs while you fill in the form and draws nothing on the page.
- A box appearsClick it. It is Cloudflare’s own box, just above the main button; then press the button again.
- Try againIf the check cannot load, a line under it says so with Try again. A content blocker is the usual cause: allow challenges.cloudflare.com.
- While it is downYou can usually still sign in or ask for a reset link; creating an account waits until the check loads.
Good to know
- It is the only outside script the web app loads, and only on those three screens. It sets no cookie on our domains; the privacy policy says what Cloudflare reads.
- Passkey sign-in and the two-step code skip the check.
